Liminal Space -
A transitional threshold in between spaces which marks their connectivity is a liminal space. Being in between two high frequency zones its own importance evanesces out.
Why this site a liminal space?
Our site transits in between the Dudhadhari matth and the Purani basti.There is a high frequency of human movement, still the space is less manifested, thus liminal in nature.
The transitional space over the land is betwixt the ancient part and the path that leads to the modernisation. The designs are just the physical means of attraction over the pond to depict.
Thought :
Raipur is known as ‘CITY OF PONDS’. Maharaja Bandh talab is one of the famous ponds. More over the Dudhadhari matth is the oldest spot of the city. The transition between them comprises of road and ghat.
The ideas cultivated as designs are simply used to accentuate the space and culminate the transition.
This design becomes a medium to attract crowd towards this spot to sustain its historical importance and to conserve the public eye towards one of the ponds of the pond city.
